This is what we are all about…
First, I would like to share why we are here. For the inmate. God laid on our hearts that just because someone has made a bad decision in their life does not mean they cannot come back from said bad decision. If you look in the Bible, who are the people God used to get things done? A murderer (Moses), an adulterous murderer (David), and many others who just ran from Him and His plans for them (Jonah). These particular men were greatly used by God. God makes the seemingly impossible – possible. We have all seen God do amazing things!
We are here because a bunch of our friends and family realized that being stripped away from everything you know and love is devastating for most people, and add to that, the time you are expected to be away from your “normal life.” Still realizing you have A LOT to learn about many, many, people coming from all different walks of life that you have NO IDEA of how they think, operate or judge. You could offend someone by just walking to the bathroom at the wrong time and let’s just say… get beat up real bad. So again, people are scared, they feel alienated, depressed, and yes some even suicidal.
Feeding His Sheep is a group of people trying to encourage and support inmates through one of the darkest times of their lives by sending Bibles and emails of God’s word. We physically send Apologetics Study Bibles, uplifting devotional books, Tactics by Greg Koukl, some books in Spanish, and Tender Warrior by Stu Weber just to name a few. We have “pen pals” for each inmate to help encourage them on their walk with God, once a week with a devotion and a pre-paid stamp.
Therefore, we are in search of people who are willing to get involved at any level you wish.
Here is how to get involved:
- Offer to be a pen pal. (You can take one or many inmates to send encouraging notes to.) All you need to do is get set up on Jpay. The cost will be about $30 for a year, to email and give them a return stamp to email you back if they/ you want.
OR
- Donate for the cost of the books and Bibles we send out.
Please make checks out to: Berean Light Fellowship
And send to:

As of now we have 60 inmates!! Praise the Lord!
So far, He has provided all the funds for the different books and the people to send emails. I am praying for help because if we get anymore inmates, they will not have a pen pal.
I can say from experience, the inmates are super thankful for the time and energy we take to send out the emails. Several have emailed me back and said they were in a very dark place and my email helped bring them out by showing them hope found in Jesus. Some have said they had put God on a shelf for a while and now they are seeking to live for Him again. Some are Christians and are thankful for the devotion to help them not stray away from God during this dark part of their journey. One guy said he is a God-fearing man, but things get so difficult to deal with in there and he said he just gets lost… but is so grateful for the devotions we send and the Bible he has received. They help get him back on the right path. Hebrews 13:3 says, “Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” I can assure you that all inmates are mistreated. There is no justice. Everyone has an equal opportunity to be mistreated, that is the only equality in prison. So, I pray you will consider being a pen pal for the “least of these” as talked about in Matthew 25: 31-46. “He said that whoever did these things to the ‘least of these’ did it to Him.” These inmates are desperate for help, but are, to some extent, unaware. They are super surprised that someone who doesn’t even know them will take the time to help them along in their Christian walk. This is what we are called to do! They are super grateful for any help we can send them. Thank you for your consideration.
